IAM/US patent transactions rose 44% in Q4 2024

The number of US patent assets transacted in 2024’s fourth quarter rose by 44% year-over-year, but the number of deals in which those assets changed hands fell by 20%, according to the latest AST Patent Deals Report.

Allied Security Trust counted 451 US patent transactions involving 3,455 assets in the fourth quarter of 2024. There were 441 sellers and 409 buyers. According to the report, NPE deals grew from 26% in Q3 to 30% in Q4. NPE buyers acquired 6% of transacted assets in Q4.
