AST analyzes US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) patent assignment records and gathers data from numerous public sources. This report highlights activity in the patent deals market during the fourth quarter of 2025. In Q4, the U.S. secondary patent market remained active and resilient despite shifting macroeconomic and geopolitical conditions. The USPTO recorded 468 patent sale transactions involving 2,743 assets, with participation from 463 unique sellers and 444 buyers. Liquidity stayed strong, and strategic activity increased, particularly among high-tech enterprises seeking to optimize and monetize intellectual property holdings.
